Overview of the role

We are looking for a passionate and energetic Sales Executive to join our Fennies Head Office team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an ambitious and growing Early Years Childcare business. You will be the first and key point of contact for families in their Fennies journey and be responsible for creating an excellent first impression and developing a good relationship with prospective families. In addition you will manage incoming enquiries, answering queries, offer advice and organise a busy calendar of nursery diaries to schedule visits for new families.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Be the first point of contact for prospective families and manage incoming enquiries either by telephone, email or via the website
  • Ensure accurate processing of relevant enquiries for new nursery places, offering advice, managing queries and arranging visits
  • Work with the Nursery Managers, calendars and systems to plan and schedule Nursery visits and follow up activity
  • Understand nursery occupancy, by nursery and support the management of waiting lists
  • Manage conversion of relevant enquiries, generate reports on the conversion of enquiries and enquiry sources
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to enhance acquisition activity and measure ROI for acquisition campaigns
  • Support the Marketing Manager to update content on www.fennies.com and social media
  • Monitor sales performance, reporting and analytics
  • Manage customer surveys and customer database
  • Understand customer profiles and undertake competitive and market research and analysis
  • Help organise events and open days

Qualifications and experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to build rapport quickly and easily
  • Fantastic organisational skills and able to manage lots of tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well with different people and also to work autonomously
  • Experience of working in childcare and nurseries would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Motivation and lots of energy with a positive ‘can do’ attitude

Successul candidates will develop experience in all areas of day to day nursery life and a sound knowledge of current good childcare practice in order to start a fulfilling career in childcare.

You will work alongside qualified staff across all areas of the nursery age range (0-5 years) to develop your practical skills in caring for young children under the overall guidance of the Nursery Manager and a mentor within the setting.

Your responsibilities will include supporting children in play and learning activities, everyday care routines such as meal and sleep times, enhancing the environment with displays of children’s work, observing and record keeping of children’s development and planning to meet their individual needs supported by establishing positive relationships with parents and carers.

We are looking for people who have:

  • The ability to relate and interact with children;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with parents, carers and other childcare professionals;
  • The ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions;
  • Good observation and organisational skills;
  • A willingness to learn new skills and ability to identify when they need to ask for support;
  • A reasonable level of IT skills would be an advantage;
  • Good levels of numeracy and literacy (minimum level 1 Functional Skills, GCSE Maths and English grades D-F or equivalent). If you have GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths grades A-C you will be able to start on the advanced apprenticeship immediately;
  • An introductory level in Child Development, Health and Social Care or similar entry level qualification is an advantage but not

Selection Process

Following a successful telephone interview, candidates will be invited to attend an interview at one our eight nurseries in Surrey, South London and Kent.  Successful candidates are then invited to an extended interview, an opportunity to speak to current apprentices, a tour of our nursery followed by a work trial in the nursery setting, prior to being offered a placement, normally within that nursery. 

 

Fennies follows a Safer Recruitment and Selection Process and you will be expected to pass a full / enhanced DBS check prior to employment which Fennies will pay for. Employment will not begin until you have been given clearance.

You will rostered to work on shifts between 7.30am- 6.45pm. The successful candidate may be required to work in different settings where the need arises.

 

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion of the Intermediate (level 2) Apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to progress onto an Advanced (level 3) programme if there are vacancies across one of the settings.

Fennies cannot guarantee a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship and the fixed term of 12 months. An offer of a full time position is dependent on current staffing requirements.
