Roles and Opportunities

banner-roles

We are committed to the ongoing development of our all staff members to enable everyone to reach their full potential. We offer a range of training and development opportunities, relevant to each individual’s role.

Induction starts from the first day at Fennies. All staff complete a three month induction programme, which provides them with a valuable introduction to Fennies, the nursery where they are working and their role. This includes a personal development plan which is reviewed as part of the probation review at the end of three months and forms the basis of further training.

All our staff benefit from open communication channels, with monthly staff meetings, room planning meetings, one-to-one supervisions and an annual appraisal.

Apprenticeships

As winners of John Ruskin College’s Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2016, the Mayor’s Fund for London Award for Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2015 and the Regional Apprentice Employer Award 2013, Fennies Day Nurseries are always on the lookout for the best people to become apprentices.

Working with a range of training providers and paying above the apprenticeship minimum wage, we offer fixed-term apprenticeships which enable outstanding candidates to complete an Intermediate (Level 2 – 13 months) or Advanced (Level 3 – 24 months) Apprenticeship in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce within our growing chain of nurseries.

Successful candidates will develop experience in all areas of day-to-day nursery life and a sound knowledge of current good childcare practice in order to start a fulfilling career in childcare.

You will work alongside qualified staff across all areas of the nursery age range (0-5 years) to develop your practical skills in caring for young children under the overall guidance of the management team within the setting.

Fennies follows a safe recruitment and selection process and you will be expected to obtain an Enhanced DBS check prior to employment. We will pay for this and your employment will not begin until you have been given full clearance.

Following successful completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to progress onto an advanced programme if there are vacancies across one of the settings.

Although Fennies cannot guarantee a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship a number of our apprentices have taken up permanent employment on successful completion of their qualifications. Any offer of a permanent position is dependent on current staffing requirements.
