Title: Junior Gardener

Hours: 40 Hours a Week, Mon – Fri, 8am-5pm

Salary: Up to £26,000

Location: Across Multi Sites

Preferred: Own Vehicle with Clean Driving License (Mileage Allowance)

Preferred: PA1 / PA6 Qualifications

 

Purpose of Role  

•  Responsibility for the quality and appearance of the Nursery chain and other relevant clients, delivering a full range of grounds maintenance services.
• Working with another senior team member on a regional area of circa 10 nurseries in the Kent, Surrey, London settings
• Assisting with wider project works and new openings etc.
• Ensuring the service is continuously improved, and the specification is met and exceeded.  

 

Duties  

• ·         Horticultural grounds maintenance tasks at all Fennies sites working to a pre-planned schedule
• ·         General maintenance of grounds e.g. Grass cutting, clearing of debris, leaves, litter, hedge, weeding, lawn maintenance, jet washing, gutter & gully clearance and shrub trimming, etc. 
• ·               Driving company vehicles and transporting plant, machinery, and equipment  
• ·         Chemical and hand-weed control  
• ·         Ensuring that all visited locations are left in a clean and tidy state  
• ·         Maintenance of records relating to tasks performed, timesheets, materials, vehicles and equipment  
• ·         Reporting any damage or vandalism to Fennies Facilities Manager 
• ·         Maintenance of vehicles and machinery and reporting vehicles defects  
• ·         Use of appropriate tools and equipment including the operation of powered hand tools, minor plant and machinery  

 

Skills Required  

•  ·                     Excellent communication skills 
• ·                     A knowledge of hard and soft landscaping
• ·                     Horticultural and / or tree experience
• ·                     Resilience under pressure 
• ·                     Ability to work to laid down schedules 
• ·                     Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative 
• ·                     Excellent customer service 
• ·                     Enthusiasm, drive, ambition, and commitment 
• ·                     Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and safety procedures 
• ·                     PA1/PA6 qualifications are desirable 
• ·                     Vehicle trailer license advantageous  
• ·                     Own Vehicle would be ideal for this current position – Mileage allowance claimable through expenses
