On Saturday the 7th of September Fennies celebrated their garden transformation!

The garden at our Addiscombe Road nursery went through a re-design, and the amazing transformation was celebrated with current and new families enjoying a BBQ, drinks, music and lots of fun activities such as face painting. The garden renovation sees a bespoke slide, providing the children with free-flow access from the upstairs rooms to the garden, a digging and planting space and a sun-protected canopy area.

Project Manager, Pascal Walker said, “The plans have been carefully thought out to a high standard to ensure best use of the space has been made, providing children with free flow access from our rooms upstairs via a garden slide. It was lovely to be able to do something different and we are very happy hearing that the children are thoroughly enjoying their new garden area and slide. It was an enjoyable experience to be involved with this unusual project, which looks great and is a massive success with the children. Thank you to Nursery Manger, Kristina and the team forbearing with us whilst works were completed during nursery hours.”

Fennies are committed to making continuous improvements to each child’s learning, in-line with the EYFS curriculum, supported by the Fennies pedagogy. With seven teaching techniques including In the Moment Planning and Communication in Friendly Spaces, Early Years Educators can encourage child-initiated play and focus on the role that an environment can offer, supporting speaking and listening skills, emotional well-being, physical development which creates a strong foundation for learning.
Fennies are delighted with the transformation and very much excited for the children to play, learn and flourish in their transformed garden!

Regional Quality Manager, Stacey Bailey said, “It’s been wonderful to see the transformation of the garden and how it has opened up pockets of awe and wonder that inspire our children to explore and play. I feel fortunate to have watched the amazing change the nursery and garden has undergone, and I know that by creating this space for the children will open a world of teaching and play possibilities for our practitioners.”
