Job Purpose

To assist the Head of Education in supporting practitioners to implement the EYFS in order to promote educational excellence.

Main Duties

  • Work under the direction of the Head of Education to ensure a coordinated approach to continuous improvement and the highest standards of early childhood education in both new and existing Fennies Nurseries, ensuring the well-being of children under five and high levels of achievement at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Deliver a wide range of the highest quality advice, support and training to support all nurseries
  • Lead and work alongside Early Years Educators and children to develop the quality of the environment, interactions, assessment, planning and teaching to support children’s learning and development
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of an appropriate, high quality continuing professional development programme to ensure that staff in settings develop competence and confidence in all aspects of EYFS practice and pedagogy
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate record of all relevant activity
  • Ensure required reports are written to a high standard and ensure observations are appropriate in style and provide feedback in a manner which is sensitive, encouraging and clear
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of inclusion issues and their interventions in early years practice and contribute to the improvement of provision and standards within the chain
  • Provide advice, support and challenge to settings with regard to equalities legislation and inclusive practice
  • Keep up to date with national and local research/development/ initiatives and act on these as appropriate

Qualifications and experience

  • A Level 3 qualification or above in Childcare or equivalent
  • Exceptional knowledge of child protection procedures and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Passion for delivering high quality childcare and learning
  • Exceptional communication skills, energy and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
