Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove brings together our curriculum and pedagogical approach with our Fennies Inspire enhancements. We have a team of specialist educators who lead these sessions to enrich the experiences we create for children, embedding both the EYFS Statutory Framework and supported by the Birth to 5 Matters Guidance. It goes without saying how beneficial it is to have this incredible team working alongside, upskilling, and inspiring our children and Early Years Educators. Our Inspire enhancements are carefully designed not only to promote language skills but also to foster creativity and instil key life skills, including problem-solving and emotional intelligence. These experiences are key to closing achievement gaps and ensuring that all children have an equal chance to succeed in school and later life.

At Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove, each day is thoughtfully structured to support children’s growth and development through a balance of educational activities and play-based learning. From the start of the day, children engage in a welcoming environment where they can explore a variety of stimulating activities tailored to their interests and developmental stages. Our educators guide them through both group and individual learning experiences, focusing on key areas like communication, physical activity, and creative play. Meal and snack times are a chance to enjoy nutritious food prepared by our on-site chefs, and outdoor play provides opportunities for fresh air, exercise, and exploration. The day is rounded out with quiet moments for rest, ensuring children feel refreshed and ready for more discovery. Throughout the day, parents receive updates via our parent app, so you’re always in the loop on those special moments throughout the day.

At Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove, we strictly adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, which dictates the staff-to-child ratios. For children under two, the ratio is 1:3, for two-year-olds, it's 1:5, and for children aged three and over, it's 1:8. These ratios help ensure that each child receives attentive, high-quality care and education.
Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove is committed to creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity. We incorporate multicultural education into our curriculum, helping children understand and appreciate different cultures and perspectives. Our team is trained to recognise and support individual needs, ensuring that every child feels valued and included. “A child’s nursery helps shape their experiences and builds on how they view the world around them. A setting that incorporates equality, diversity, and inclusion can benefit children’s social and emotional development as well as a cultural appreciation of others. We are committed to ensuring our practice is inclusive and diverse. Celebrating diversity is especially important as it introduces cultures and customs that children may not have been exposed to yet.” - Director of Early Years, Rageena Tahir.
We have designed our rooms at Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove to provide free-flow access, allowing children to easily transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. We are proud to offer an outdoor terrace connected to our baby room. We recognise the numerous benefits of outdoor learning. It serves as a platform for children's imaginations to flourish and promotes their mental well-being by providing a refreshing escape. Additionally, outdoor play helps channel their abundant energy into active engagement, contributing to their physical development.
There are multiple reasons we don’t offer half-day services at Fennies Wimbledon, Elm Grove, one of which being the fact that children tend to find it harder to settle if they only attend for a portion of the day, which can affect their readiness for preschool. If the children were to only attend part of the day, it would be likely they would miss out on crucial aspects of the curriculum, as the routines of our day are designed to provide a holistic learning experience with different styles of activities scheduled throughout the day. Also, if parents were to come in to collect their children halfway through the day, it is likely to unsettle and upset the other children who stay. However, this of course does not affect early morning drop-offs/evening pick-ups where we remain flexible to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability.
You can find us at 17 Elm Grove, Wimbledon, SW19 4HE. Our enchanting nursery is a 4-minute drive away from Wimbledon train station and just around the corner from Wimbledon train station.
