OVERVIEW
We're focused on internal professional growth at Fennies. We want our practitioners to feel empowered and confident, to make every child feel like they are valued and heard. As a Fennies family, we are one big community and we are committed to supporting each other, sharing best practice and to lead our own learning. Inspiring sessions will help those who are discovering more about child development, all the way up to those looking to develop their leadership skills. See below for a taster of some of the sessions we offer our practitioners.
“We support your growing career through support from mentors, offering qualifications delivered by outstanding providers, guidance and advice and bespoke learning and development courses tailored to your learning styles. FAQs
During our onboarding programme we ensure that all new students and nursery staff have a thorough and comprehensive beginning. We stay in contact via touch-base sessions that include; Safeguarding and Mealtimes, a Welcome to Fennies, Importance of Attachment and the Key Person Approach, an Introduction to the early years foundation stage (EYFS) and Fennies Inspire, how to create positive relationships and a celebration when graduating.
If you are new to the early education sector or in need of a refresh, this is the best place to start. We begin our teaching by reflecting on the Statutory Framework from 2017, the latest reforms and the importance that difference guidance document play in our understanding of child development. Our session of course includes examples to bring the documents to life!
Here at Fennies, we have Explorers (0-2), Discoverers (2-3), Creators (3-4) and Inventors (4+) rooms that all require specific knowledge and experience to understand how children develop best. So, whether you are look to hone your knowledge on brain development, understand how to be better attuned to babies, learning about the differing needs of toddlers or how to provide pre-schoolers with opportunities to develop as independent learners, we will have the right course for you.
A constant eco system of support through our continuous internal training and an extensive well-being programme, allows each Manager to provide motivating and high-quality childcare training for their teams. Training is cascaded through different ways and environments:
- Regular team meetings where bitesize training modules are delivered
- 1-2-1 meetings for focussed targeted support
- Room observations and audits providing staff with constructive feedback to build on their skills
- Ongoing on the job training from their management team
Our values are accountability, diversity, quality and leadership and our practitioners thrive within this forward-thinking practice with added support offered from our wider collective of experts in areas such as education, communications, and HR.
