Fennies Nursery Graduate Scheme

Overview
We offer a two-year paid graduate scheme designed to give new graduates and current Fennies staff the chance to experience the whole Fennies business, training them for a successful career in their chosen area of the early years sector. This scheme is unique as it can be tailored to each candidate, depending on their experience, qualifications and career goals.
Year 1 A 3-month, out-of-ratio, rotation across our nurseries, education team, support teams and even our Fennies Academy itself.
Year 2 In the final year, those on the scheme will choose what pathway they wish to take and gain a full qualification for their dream role.

The full scheme is 2 years long, however this time could vary depending on your previous qualifications and experience.
Yes, you will receive a competitive salary plus all the other amazing benefits Fennies employees receive including; free lunches, discounted Fennies Fresh takeout service, etc.

The graduate scheme enables candidates to experience working in all departments of the Fennies business, therefore you will learn a broad range of childcare skills and knowledge. In year 2 of the scheme you will choose a specific part of the business to complete your qualifications in – this could be working within the nursery, as part of the nursery education team, as a SEND specialist or working within Fennies Academy itself. Everything is open to explore!

  • Minimum of a level 5 childcare qualification is preferred but would consider Level 3
  • Experience within early years
  • The ability to relate and interact with children and make a difference in their lives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with parents, careers and other childcare professionals
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Good observation and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn new skills and ability to identify when they need to ask for support
  • Commitment to completing the graduate programme

There are select spaces and these are open to both internal staff and external candidates.

There will be one intake per year for the graduate scheme. Applications open in March and close end of April, with offers being given in June ready for a September start.
