Imagination

Nurturing a child's imagination gives them the freedom to learn about themselves and push the boundaries of creativity. Our teaching and play are led by the childrens natural curiosity and wonder, inspiring our practitioners to be creative in their methods.

Global Awareness

Educating children on environmental issues empowers them to actively lead change as they grow. Our gardens provide space for growing teaching them about sustainability, our community trips strengthen their connection to the outside world and all nurseries are working towards completing the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Award.

Creative Expression

Allowing children to explore their natural creativity develops skills in creative thinking and problem-solving which feeds into core subjects. Children explore their creativity using media that inspires their creative spirit.

Confidence & Emotional Development

Children’s personal, social, and emotional development (PSED) is crucial. Children are exposed to sensory exploration, heuristic play, and ICAN throughout their Fennies journey. Supported interaction is ingrained in Fennies daily activities to promote communication and confidence.

Communication & Language

We provide a language-rich environment for our children. Practitioners build on language through effective interactions by echoing the children and adding in more complex words. French and Spanish lessons are introduced to the children as it is key in creating memory paths for brain development.

Physical Development

Fennies children are encouraged to be active throughout the day in a variety of different ways. Our environments facilitate the journey a child takes from firsts steps to adventurous play.

STEM Activities

Our STEM program integrates children into a cohesive learning ideal based on real-world applications. Lending itself to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Science

Our teams are trained in the delivery of specific science activities to develop children’s analytical skills, encourage critical thinking, and promote problem-solving.

Technology

Technology is an important part of modern life and children become fascinated with the endless possibilities it provides. Children engage in this at Fennies using the highest standard of resources such as, interactive smartboards, light tables, and learning how to program toys. This develops a positive attitude towards technology and an understanding of how to use it in later life.

Engineering

Incorporating engineering-focused activities empowers children to become problem-solvers. Children will also learn to emphasise, regulate emotions, and collaborate with their peers by using critical thinking to explore solutions within a real-world context.

Mathematics

Mathematics is a core aspect within children’s development and this is filtered into their daily activities to build upon self-confidence and abilities whilst understanding space, shape, and measure.

Phonics

The focus of our Phonics program is to lay the foundations for reading, writing, and speaking. By demonstrating the relationship between sounds of the spoken language and letters of the written language children learn to blend sounds to eventually create words.
