Overview Of Fennies Whitton, Percy Road
Fennies Whitton is one of our newest nurseries, opening in 2026. The nursery has been thoughtfully designed with children’s learning and development in mind, featuring bright and open interiors that create a calm atmosphere while inviting children to explore.
Whitton is in a convenient location, just a 1-minute drive or a 9-minute walk from Whitton Train Station. With space for buggies and a dedicated area for pick-up and drop-off, it offers ease and accessibility for families managing a busy day.
Explore The Nursery

Our Whitton Nursery is a bright and welcoming nursery created to support every stage of early childhood development.
Inside, spacious rooms allow children to explore at their own pace and build confidence in what they can do. Calm areas are placed throughout to help children manage emotions and encourage curiosity.
Outside, the nursery features multiple gardens, including a dedicated baby garden and a dedicated toddler garden, designed specifically to meet the needs of our youngest learners.
Explorers Room (3 Months - 18 Months)

The Explorers Room at Whitton provides a calm and nurturing space for babies, supporting sensory development and early physical growth. Our attentive team maintains consistent routines to give children a sense of security while offering new experiences to encourage learning. They have access to a dedicated baby garden, providing access to explore outdoor spaces in a safe and secure environment. With a 1:3 staff-to-child ratio, every baby receives individual care, and the team works closely with families to support each child’s daily needs and overall development.
Discoverers Room (18 Months - 24 Months)
The Discoverers Room helps toddlers as they move from infancy into early toddlerhood. Children are supported to explore at their own pace, engage with activities that spark interest and grow their ability to communicate. The team provides routines for mealtimes and toileting that promotes independence and reassurance. With a 1:3 staff-to-child ratio, toddlers receive careful guidance and attention during this important stage. Along with a dedicated garden space, allowing them access to outdoor play where they can further explore.
Creators Room (2 Years - 3 Years)

In the Creators Room, children aged 2 to 3 years focus on growing independence, learning to interact with others and developing early language skills. The space encourages play through sensory activities and imaginative role play, as well as early mark-making. Children begin forming friendships and taking pride in responsibilities such as assisting with mealtime routines. With a 1:5 staff-to-child ratio, the team is always on hand to provide individual guidance. Bathroom facilities within the room support gentle toilet training, helping children feel confident and secure.
Inventors Room (3 Years - 5 Years)
The Inventors Room supports children as they prepare to move on to school, providing a space where learning is engaging and meaningful. Children explore STEM activities along with literacy and numeracy, helping them think critically and solve problems. With a 1:8 staff-to-child ratio, children grow in confidence while receiving focused guidance. Access to resources encourages curiosity, and carefully chosen materials reflect everyday experiences to help children understand the world around them.
Garden

The outdoor space at Whitton is designed to let children be active while supporting their physical development and curiosity. The garden includes a dedicated baby area and a separate toddler area, giving children space to explore safely. Outdoor play is part of daily routines, helping children connect with nature and enjoy time outside.
Dedicated Studio Space

One of the standout features at Fennies Whitton is the dedicated studio space. This meticulously designed environment has been created to allow children to engage with the culinary world through hands-on practical experiences, preparing them with skills to set them up for life. With plenty of opportunities to develop their fine motor skills and learn early mathematical concepts through measuring ingredients, it’s an interactive way for the children to explore new tastes and textures, all while learning and having fun!
Meet The Team

(Lacey) (Nursery Manager)
Lacey brings her adventurous spirit into her Early Years practice, sharing her enthusiasm with the children through engaging activities and practical learning experiences. Active in her local community, she supports the team to bring positive interactions into everyday nursery life, helping educators translate ideas into practice. Over her Early Years career, Lacey has enjoyed leading projects such as Forest School sessions, incorporating hands-on learning into the curriculum at Fennies Whitton. Looking ahead, she is motivated to create opportunities that inspire children and help them develop a lasting love of learning. Lacey is very familiar with Fennies, having worked for one of our other settings, Fennies Teddington, for over a year before joining the Fennies Whitton team!
The Education Team
Paula (Regional SENCO And Inclusion Manager)
Paula plays an integral role in offering support to children with additional needs or those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). She plays a key role in enhancing our team’s understanding of both SENCO and EAL empowering us to provide the best possible care.
Ruth (Education Advisor)

Ruth is pivotal in motivating our teams to create engaging and stimulating environments for our children. She is a strong advocate for our initiatives like our ‘Book of the Month’ and our recently introduced ‘Music and Movement’ campaign. Music-based activities are essential to our curriculum due to their profound impact on brain and emotional development, along with its benefits on children’s holistic well-being during their Early Years.
Majka (Art Specialist)
Majka frequently visits all of our nurseries, including our South Croydon nursery, to guide the children in learning through art. Each month, she introduces an ‘Artist of the Month’, encouraging children to explore various art activities inspired by that artist’s works.
Recruitment At Fennies
At Fennies Whitton, we follow a thorough recruitment process to bring in new team members who are committed to Early Years education.
Our approach ensures that high standards of safeguarding, care and education are always upheld. Every new team member completes a detailed induction to prepare for their role, and by the second day, they undertake paediatric first aid training. This gives them the essential skills to help create a safe and supportive environment for every child.
Education At Fennies

We recognise the Early Years as the foundation for a child’s lifelong learning. At Fennies Whitton, we uphold high standards through regular quality audits. These are carried out by Regional Managers working closely with Rageena, Head of Compliance, and Eleanor, Head of Education, to ensure excellence is maintained in every area of care and learning.
Specialist Education Team
Children at Whitton also benefit from the expertise of our Specialist Education Team, which includes the SENDCO Specialist, Art Specialist and Education Advisor. These specialists add depth to children’s experiences through initiatives such as ‘Artist of the Month’ and ‘Book of the Month’. Children take part in trips into the local community, including visits to the library, and families can borrow from the Lending Library to continue encouraging a love of reading at home.
Famly App
The Famly App helps parents stay informed with updates about their child’s day in real time. Information on routines, milestones, photographs and nursery activities keeps families connected and engaged. This regular communication strengthens parent partnerships and supports children’s development.
Safety And Security
Fennies Whitton, Percy Road is protected by a monitored entry system that only allows access to registered parents, carers or approved team members. Any visitors to the nursery are accompanied by an educator during their time on site to make sure each child’s day remains safe and secure, from drop-off through to pick-up.
Food At Fennies

At our nursery in Whitton, the in-house kitchen team prepares fresh, balanced meals each day, designed to meet children’s tastes and dietary needs. Menus change twice a year to reflect seasonal produce and are accredited by the Early Years Alliance (EYA). Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible to provide nourishing meals that support active learning and play.
Mealtimes are calm and relaxed, giving children the chance to develop table manners and independence. The team encourages children to explore new foods while respecting their preferences, helping them enjoy positive experiences at the table. Water is available throughout the day to keep children well hydrated.
Hygiene
Providing a safe and healthy environment is central to life at Fennies Whitton. The team follows strict hygiene practices to reduce the spread of germs and support children’s wellbeing. Handwashing is part of daily routines, and team members model good personal hygiene throughout the day.
Every evening, dedicated housekeepers clean the nursery carefully, and a full deep clean takes place each quarter to maintain our high standards.
