Meet The Team

We see working in Early Years as the most special job in the world! Having an impact on shaping the lives of the next generation is an aspect we love about our job. Fennies Bromley is no different! We strive to reach new heights in Early Years education and continue to develop ourselves to deliver the highest quality experience and childcare for our children.

With a long-standing, established team, we live and breathe what it means to be a Fennies Educator. With this excellent team at Fennies Bromley, plus a central education team who visit the Bromley nursery on a regular basis, it’s time to meet the people who make this nursery so incredible…

Loren (Nursery Manager)

With 10 years of experience working in Early Years, Loren has been in a managerial role for the last 5 of those years. Throughout this time Loren has been able to implement her areas of passion into her nurseries to better the development for the children. She advocates for allowing children to achieve and grow at their own pace, trying to remove the pressure surrounding their development. Another education-based passion Loren has applied within the Bromley Nursery is providing surroundings that promote a stimulating, high-quality environment that allows the children to thrive and learn fundamental skills.

Jen (Deputy Manager)

Having come through our very own Graduate scheme, Jen has been a member of the Fennies Family for five years now. Having started as an educator, through dedication and commitment, Jen has managed to progress all the way to a Deputy Manager role. Through her role, she has been able to champion building a sense of community amongst the team, parents, children and local businesses. Having parents such as hairdressers and artists coming in to provide valuable experiences for the children, whilst also creating an empowering environment where the parents are encouraged to connect and be a part of the community.

Paula (Regional SENCO and Inclusion Manager)

Paula provides extensive support for children who have additional needs or speak English as an additional language (EAL). She also helps enhance our staff’s understanding of SENCO and EAL through meetings, empowering us to better provide support for children with EAL or SEN. She has collaborated with Fennies Bromley by working with the SENCO lead, upskilling them on language development for children with SEN.

Ruth (Educational Advisor)

Ruth plays a crucial role in inspiring our staff to create engaging environments for the children. She is a strong advocate for our ‘Book of the Month’ initiative and has recently launched a new campaign called ‘Music and Movement’ making it an essential component of our curriculum due to its profound benefits on brain development and holistic well-being for children in Early Years. Recently she collaborated with Fennies Bromley by holding a Music and Movement session with the children where they listened to different sounds, recreated them and learnt about the instruments used.

Majka (Art Specialist)

Every month, Majka introduces an ‘Artist of the Month’ where the children engage in various art-based activities inspired by that artist and their work. This month’s focus has been Vivienne Westwood so the children have done activities where they discover different colours and textures allowing the children to explore their artistic skills and creativity, all whilst learning about influential artists. When Majka visited Fennies Bromley last time, the children did an autumnal art activity where they used the leaves from outside the nursery to help them pick their colours for painting, and also stuck them onto the canvas to later peel off and reveal a beautiful pattern.

Explore the Nursery

Our Bromley nursery has been meticulously designed with spaces that are purpose-built for nurturing children through each stage of their development. Our furniture is exclusively created by Community Playthings

They design child-focused furniture with safety features such as pinch free hinges and rounded corners to foster a harmonious and safe environment. Their products are crafted by renewable resources such as solid wood finishes and water-based coatings, ensuring the use of harmful chemicals like styrene, phthalates and BPA are avoided.

Our Bromley nursery features dedicated rooms for different age groups…

Explorers Room

This room is designed to suit children aged between 3 months and 18 months. At this age children are beginning to crawl and stand. The room is designed to enhance the opportunity for that. Exploration through senses is key as they familiarise themself with their surroundings as they begin to establish communication and language

At Fennies Bromley, the Explorers Room has 2 innovative features that really help foster a nurturing environment. Firstly, it has a dedicated sensory sleep area that is separate from the rest of the room that allows for a serene and calm environment where the little learners can flourish, but also maintain their daily routines. We are passionate about providing nurturing environments for our children to grow and develop in, you can find out more on the ‘Our Environments’ page. It also has a dedicated baby terrace that allows the children to explore and develop their physical motor skills

The team in this room will operate at a ratio of 1:3 enabling the children to form close bonds with their assigned key person. Making access to resources even easier, the room has a dedicated milk kitchen and nappy changing area to allow for day-to-day processes to run smoothly.

Discoverers Room

This room is designed to suit children between the age of 18 and 24 months. At this stage a child’s personality starts to take shape, discovering their own likes and dislikes. Communication is displayed in a much more proud manner, and the children’s levels of movement and curiosity increase. In order to suit these needs, the room has been tailor made to support children’s ability to be independent

The Discoverers Room at Blyth Road is very spacious and versatile, allowing for the team to be flexible and change the environments regularly to allow the children the freedom to discover their interests. Indoor and outdoor environments are available for the children to explore, and learn through educational and fun activities.

Creators Room

This room is designed to suit children between the ages of 2 and 3. By this stage, most children are utilising their natural abilities, and start to build on their language and communication skills to socialise and create relationships. Independence begins to develop as children start to take control over activities such as self-care routines and self-serving food at mealtimes.

At Blyth Road, the Creators Room has really good access to other facilities, with free-flow access to the garden. It’s also connected with the Inventors Room, allowing the children to familiarise themself with the children, educators and surroundings of this room so the transition is smooth.

Inventors Room

This room is designed to suit children between the ages of 3 and 5. At this age the children are in the ‘transition’ phase as they prepare for going to school, so the educators allow children the space to independently take on tasks. Bespoke experiences based on your child’s interests are created, providing opportunities for them to develop skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM).

Once again the Inventors Room has free-flow access to the garden, but they also have their own dedicated garden area where they have their own flower bed garden where the children can grow fruit and vegetables. The room is full of real-life resources to encourage your child to solve problems and develop more complex role-play skills.

Garden

Fennies Bromley, Blyth Road has a spacious garden that encourages the children to explore the outdoor environment. With features such as a water feature, hill and mud kitchen, it helps children develop physical, communication and turn-taking skills. Both the Creators Room and Inventors Room have free-flow access to the garden which allows the children to develop independence and explore both indoor and outdoor environments.

Food at Fennies

We have a wonderful on-site chef at our Fennies Bromley, who cooks nutritious meals to fuel your child throughout the day. Our menus are rotated twice a year in line with the changing of the seasons and we are proudly accredited with EYA (Early Years Alliance's), prioritising your child’s well-being above all else. Food is very important to us, as it is the children!

The EYA believes that good nutrition is one of the fundamentals of children’s well-being and that a consistent, evidence-based approach is essential to establishing healthy eating practices. At Fennies, we accommodate every child’s unique needs whether that be tolerances, allergens or preferences, helping create a positive environment for the children to learn about food and nutrition.

What our parent's say!

Selecting a nursery is a big decision to make for both you and your children, therefore making the right choice where your child fits in is a difference maker. Fennies Bromley, Blyth Road is just the place for it, but don’t just take our word for it, hear what the parents had to say about Fennies Bromley!

‘My child has been attending Fennies for just over 2 years and in that time, has come on in leaps and bounds with his speech and learning. Fennies are very caring towards the children and my son tells me regularly how much he likes his key worker and other staff in his room. Although it took my son some time to settle in, he is now always excited to go to nursery and hurries me out of the door to get him there as fast as possible.’

‘Fennies Bromley, Blyth Road has been exceptional for our son over the past year. The service is consistent, communication excellent, and most importantly, he eagerly anticipates nursery days. He's gained social skills, table manners, and a rich vocabulary. We're thrilled with our choice!’
